The Event

Amos sees God standing beside the altar

God says to strike the tops of the pillars and for the thresholds to shake and for them to break in pieces on the head of all of them

God is going to kill them with the sword and no one will escape

Though they did into Sheol, God's hand will grab them

Thought they climb up into heaven, God will bring them down

If they try to hide at the top of Mount Carmel, God will search them out

If they try to hid at the bottom of the sea, God will command the serpent to bite them

If they try to go into captivity before their enemies, God will kill them with the sword

God is going to set His eye upon them for evil, and not good

God is going to touch the land and it will melt and everyone will mourn

The land will rise up like a river and then fall again like the river of Egypt

Yahweh is the great creator of the heavens, the earth and the sea

God says to Israel, "Didn't I rescue and deliver you from the Egyptians, the Philistines and the Syrians?"

God will destroy the sinful kingdom from off the earth, but he will not utterly destroy the house of Jacob

God is going to sift the house of Israel among the nations like grain in a sieve, but not a single kernel will fall to the earth

All the sinners in Israel will die by the sword, who say "Evil won't overtake us"

God is going to rise up David's fallen tent. He will close its breaches, repair its ruins and build it up again as in the days of old

God is going to restore David's fallen tent so Israel can possess the remnant of Edom and all the nations which are called by God's name

The day is coming when the plowman shall overtake the reaper,  and the one treading grapes him who sows seed

The day is coming when sweet wine will drip from the mountains and flow from the hills

God is going to bring back the captivity of His people Israel

God's people will once again rebuild the ruined cities and live in them

God's people will once again plant vineyards and drink the wine

God's people will once again make gardens and eat of their produce

God will plant Israel in their land again and no one will pluck them out
